Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please send me a short email and I will be happy to book an introductory session. This will allow me to understand what brings you here. I will follow up by email and, once we agree to proceed, I will send you more details. I am happy to answer specific questions over a 10-minute phone call, before an introductory session, if you wish. Please note that payment for the introductory session is due 24 hours in advance to secure the time slot. Thereafter, payment is due on the day, though before or after the session is fine. Please make your payment by bank transfer.

  • I currently charge £75.00 per 60-minute session. All services incur the same hourly fee.

  • You can choose between face-to-face in Oxford or online. In-person sessions are in a small practice in central Oxford. Please note that unfortunately access is via stairs only. Walk-and-talk sessions are available on request, depending on the season. For online sessions, I will send you a Cal.com link on the day of our session. I suggest we have a video call, and you are welcome to use either your phone or laptop, whichever works best for you. The link opens in a web browser, so you do not need any app or software. Please keep in mind the importance of finding a quiet time and space. You will also need good Wi-Fi signal.

  • Yes, everything you share is protected by client confidentiality. I will not disclose your identity or session content outside our sessions. To preserve confidentiality, if we happen to meet in public, I may acknowledge you with a nod but will not initiate a greeting. I will respond if you choose to greet me. Please note that I regularly undertake supervision, a professional and ethical duty for both coaches and therapists. This is a process of professional development, in which I might discuss topics from clients’ sessions anonymously with a qualified colleague. Supervisors are equally bound by strict confidentiality. There are only rare cases in which I am legally required to break confidentiality. These include serious risk of harm to yourself or others, preventing terrorism, reporting female genital mutilation in minors, complying with court orders or statutory data requests, identifying drivers if asked by a police officer, and reporting suspected money laundering or drug trafficking.

  • I require two full business day’s notice. E.g. A Wednesday 9:00am session must be cancelled before Monday 9:00am; a Monday 9:00am session must be cancelled before Thursday 9:00am. If the notice period is not observed, I reserve the right to charge the missed session in full.

  • I can support clients on a range of issues, including: Performance & Achievement: academic performance, artistic expression, creativity, focus, motivation, productivity, managing pressure or high achievement, leadership skills, time management, decision-making, work and life balance. Mental Health: anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, burnout, feeling stuck, sleep difficulties, loneliness. Interpersonal Issues: relationship difficulties (personal or professional), attachment patterns, setting boundaries, intimacy and trust. Fears & Self-Esteem: confidence, imposter syndrome, phobias, public speaking, performance anxiety, self-image. Coping with Change: career change, dealing with crisis, life transitions. Spirituality & Personal Growth: identity, purpose, meaning, personal development, emotional intelligence, psycho-education, spiritual awakening. I am not qualified to work with individuals under 18, or with PTSD, anorexia, psychosexual disorders, psychosis, or personality disorders. If you are seeking support for any of these latter issues, I may be able to refer you to a suitably qualified professional. In case of doubt, feel free to contact me, and we can discuss your specific issue or situation.

  • Therapy and hypnotherapy currently have a waiting list. Please email me, and I will be happy to add you. I am accepting new clients for coaching, with limited availability for in-person sessions.

  • We can discuss this in our introductory session. My role is to efficiently help you get where you want to be, while respecting your own pace. As a rule, I offer the following options: Coaching — we commit to a series of six sessions. By the sixth session, we will review progress and either continue with another series or conclude. Solution-focused therapy — following an introductory session, I will propose a number of sessions tailored to your needs. We commit to this and assess your development at the end. Open-ended therapy — we commit to a minimum of four initial sessions. I will do periodic check-ins and review our work once a year. While format often influences the choice between coaching and therapy, you are of course welcome to request that I draw on skills from another area where appropriate.

  • Sessions are typically held every 7 to 14 days, depending on your preference. This balances the importance of regularity with some flexibility. You can book at the end of each session or by email. Time slots are offered to all clients on a first come, first served basis. If you require a regular time slot, please let me know in advance and I will try to accommodate.

  • I only require your name and a contact method (email or WhatsApp). For therapy services, I also ask for your GP’s contact details. This information is saved on my computer’s hard drive and is password-protected. Your personal data may be used on my email account, WhatsApp, or Cal.com, depending on your stated preferences, but it will never be shared with others. I also keep anonymised notes on our sessions, stored securely on Proton Drive and in accordance with data protection regulations.

  • Because all my work is confidential, I do not ask for or publish testimonials, as this would conflict with my practice standards. If you have any concerns during our sessions, I encourage you to raise them openly. If you are happy with our work and would like to recommend me, you are welcome to do so through good old-fashioned word of mouth.

  • I commit to cancelling or re-scheduling sessions only in exceptional circumstances (such as illness), and always with as much notice as possible. I will communicate this in writing via email or WhatsApp. When a session must be cancelled, I will offer alternative times. I occasionally take holidays or attend short courses during weekdays and will inform you of these in advance.
